Noong Cop pine forest is a beautiful and poetic destination in Son La province. This pine forest is located in Quang Huy commune, Phu Yen district, only 2 km from Phu Yen town center. Noong Cop is a beautiful land located at an altitude of more than 1000 meters above sea level. This place has a cool climate typical of the Northern mountainous region, ranging from 20 – 30 degrees Celsius depending on the season of the year. Therefore, this climate is very favorable for plants such as pine trees to grow and develop
Back in 1984, Phu Yen Forestry planted more than 1,059 hectares of pine and pine trees in Quang Huy commune, forming a large and green pine forest like today. Currently, this forest has tens of thousands of beautiful green pine trees, nearly 40 years old.

The name Noong Cop means “frog pond” in the local language. In the past, this was just a deserted area with a natural pond on top of a hill. Every year during the rainy season, many frogs came to breed in the pond. So people called it Noong Cop for easy remembering.
