Tien Son Cave Lai Chau is also known as Dan Don Cave, Po Ngai Tung Cave or Da Trang Cave by the Lu ethnic people living nearby since ancient times. If you stand from the cave and look far away, you can also see the majestic Hoang Lien Son range in the distance, Fansipan peak  hidden in the clouds, or the extremely beautiful mountain scenery. In particular, this place is also associated with the legend of 99 mountains and 99 clear blue lakes of the Lu people.

According to legend, the 99 majestic mountains symbolize 99 strong, healthy men, while the 99 clear blue lakes represent 99 hard-working, beautiful women. Those mountains and lakes connect to each other to form a “wall” that holds a rich, fertile land. That is the land you are setting foot on – Tien Son Cave .
